New York Red Bulls plan to reunite Anelka with Henry

New York Red Bulls are pondering a move for Nicolas Anelka, according to report from L’Equipe.

The MLS side are eager to reunite Nicolas Anelka with Thierry Henry and thus revive the attacking partnership from French national team.

Anelka’s starting place at Chelsea is in danger following the arrival of Fernando Torres and with his contract set to expire in June 2012, the Frenchman could be tempted to move across the Atlantic.

With the sale of Juan Pablo Angel to La Galaxy, New York Red Bulls have made room for one of three contracts that doesn’t fall under the salary cap, meaning they are prepared to launch an assault on the Chelsea forward.

The MLS side are not in a hurry seeing that January transfer window in Europe has closed few days ago, but they could make an official offer next summer.
