Newcastle agree deal for Lukaku

According to a report from Sky Sports, Newcastle United have agreed on a loan deal that will see them sign Jordan Lukaku – the younger brother of Manchester United’s Romelu.

Jordan just about missed out on Belgium’s World Cup squad last summer, but ever since then he has been fighting tooth and nail to build himself back up. Lukaku has been with Lazio since 2016, when he made the jump over from Oostende.

For Newcastle fans, this will mark the long awaited return to transfer dealings for the club. It’s no secret that Rafa Benitez has been desperate to bring in more reinforcements over the course of the last month or so, with some fans wondering whether it not it wound end up being the catalyst behind him leaving the club.

With defender Lukaku now signed, though, perhaps this is the sign that the Magpies faithful needed that perhaps there’s going to be some kind of added investment in the next few years.
