Newcastle reach Gordon agreement with Everton

Newcastle and Everton have reached an agreement with Everton over the proposed transfer of Anthony Gordon, and the young forward is set to complete the medical ahead of the St. James Park move. The fee the Magpies will be paying for his services is set at £40 million.

Newcastle, as well as Chelsea, have reportedly been trying to sign Gordon for a while, but Everton held out firmly until now, believing the starlet would be a vital instrument in their attempt to turn the underwhelming season around as soon as possible. However, Frank Lampard has now been sacked, with former Burnley boss Sean Dyche reportedly the prime candidate to replace him in the Goodison dugout while the team sit second from the wrong end of the table.

And while Chelsea have turned elsewhere to strengthen their attacking ranks since, Newcastle have obviously continued their pursuit of Gordon and it seems they’ve finally got their man.
