Nottingham Forest 7/4 to beat Bristol City in Saturdays Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Nottingham Forest win

Odds: 7/4 @ Bet 365

After bringing in 10 players this summer, Forest boss Aitor Karanka has his sights set on a playoff position and The Reds will get their Championship campaign underway when they travel to Ashton Gate Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with Lee Johnson’s Bristol City side, although The Robbins enjoyed a successful start to last years season, the hosts slipped down the table after an abysmal second half of the year. With top scorer Bobby Reid moving to Cardiff earlier in the window, City are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth that means The Robbins were unable to win any of their pre-season outings. In fact, aside from a 4-2 win over Cheltenham, they have not won a matchup since the start of April. With the likes of captain Adien Flint also heading out of Ashton Gate, we expect them to struggle against a Nottingham Forest side filled with confidence.

As for Forest, it has been a complete overhaul for Aitor Karanka. With the former Boro manager bringing in 10 new faces, many are excited for the new year. One of the new recruits is former Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban, after impressing at Sunderland and Villa last season, the £6million man was the second top scorer in the Championship last season and has already put in several eye-catching performances. Coming off the back of a 2-0 win over The Cherries last week, Forest were unbeaten in their last four pre-season outings. Backing Forest to come away with the win at 7/4 seems like the smartest bet here.
