Onana open to Premier League move

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana has revealed he would be open to a move to the Premier League.

The Dutch champions drew 4-4 against Chelsea in a rather controversial Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, which they finished with nine men on the pitch and a three-goal lead dropped.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Onana said he would be interested in playing in the English top flight. He praised the competition in the league, and added that every player wants to play there but they need to be given a chance in a league that is not ‘for everybody’. Having recently extended his contract with Ajax and agreed to remain there until 2022, the 23-year-old says he has no intention of staying there forever, but at the moment he is, and he’s fully focused.

Onana has recently been linked with a return to Barcelona where his journey as a football player started, but he played the link down, expressing no desire to play second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
