New England Revolution head coach Caleb Porter is delighted with his team’s recent performances, but wants them to be freer in front of goal for their trip to Orlando City in MLS.
The Revs have won their last four matches in the league, keeping a clean sheet each time, with three of those victories coming on the road.
They are ninth in the Eastern Conference with 16 points but could move above their opponents with a win on Saturday.
While Porter has been impressed with his side’s defensive performances in recent weeks, he is hoping their confidence in front of goal can continue to grow.
“We need our strikers to produce goals,” he said. “When you look at our system and how we’re playing, we’re starting to get the strikers going now.
“I felt like we attacked really well [against Toronto FC], got into great spots and had big chances. It was another professional performance that got us another clean sheet and a third road win in a row.
“That’s very difficult to be doing what we’re doing on the road, and it’s not going to get any easier with Orlando. It’s probably our toughest game of the year.”
