Paco Alcacer on Dortmund’s radar

Borussia Dortmund are in search of a new striker following the departure of Michy Batshuayi on loan to Valencia, and according to a report by L’Equipe, the 1997 Champions League winners are interested in Barcelona’s Paco Alcacer.

Alcacer has no place in plans of Ernesto Valverde at Nou Camp for the 2018/19 season, but he has appeared on the list of priorities for Lucien Favre in the dugout at Signal Iduna Park.

The 24-year-old versatile forward arrived to Barcelona in 2016, having been a Valencia player his entire professional career up to that point which started in 2010. He did, however, spend a year with Getafe on loan in 2012/13.

In two years with the Catalan club, he played a total of 50 games in all competitions which isn’t that bad given the quality they possess up front, and he scored 15 goals. However, since Valverde isn’t counting on him this term it would probably be best for him to move on. Apart from Dortmund, he has attracted interest from his former club Valencia, as well as Real Betis and Alaves.
