Pardew hints at Cisse sale

The Mirror understands that Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has suggested that he would be willing to sell Papiss Cisse, but only if the price is right.

The Senegal international has been out of form for some time, scoring just one club goal in the past eight months.

The North East club brought in France international Loic Remy on loan during the summer, who has gone on to score eight goals in thirteen league appearances – form similar to that of Cisse’s when he first moved to St James’ Park.

Pardew has rated the 28 year old at £7m – roughly £2m less than Newcastle paid to German club Freiburg for his services almost two years ago.

Despite his shyness in front of goal this season, Cisse has appeared in all but three of his side’s league games so far this season, and is priced at 21/10 to score against Southampton tomorrow afternoon.
