Handed the chance to climb as high as fifth, a resurgent Parma will welcome Verona to the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Tuesday evening.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another noteworthy display over the weekend and pinching a 2-2 draw off of Inter Milan at the San Siro, many around the Stadio Ennio Tardini have been surprised by Parma’s start to the season. Handed the chance to leapfrog the likes of Roma and Lazio to fifth spot, Roberto D’Aversa’s men have now lost just one of their last five Serie A appearances, a run that stems back to the 22nd of September. Arguably the surprise package in Italy’s top-tier heading into November, a huge part of their recent revival has come down to their continued success on home soil. Winning their last three straight matches in Parma, Tuesday’s hosts also landed a 5-1 win over Genoa in their last matchup at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

As for the visitors, although their 2-0 win over Sampdoria at the start of the month may have been a result that could have kick-started Verona’s campaign, they have since come crashing back down to earth. Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss against Sassuolo over the weekend, Ivan Jurić’s men have now lost back-to-back matchups and have continued to show some glaring issues in the final third. The returning Serie A outfit have gone over 200 minutes without recording a strike and they currently hold the second-worst attacking record in Italy’s top-tier. Two sides who find themselves in very different positions, we’re backing a high-flying Parma to come out on top in midweek.
