Barcelona and Celta de Vigo will face each other in La Liga this weekend. The match will be held at Camp Nou and is scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time on Sunday.

Barcelona

Barcelona struggled last season and could not challenge bitter rivals Real Madrid for the La Liga title at all. In the end, Carlo Ancelotti’s side won the Spanish title with games to spare. However, things will be much tighter this season, much much tighter.

At the moment, Barcelona are at the top of the La Liga table with 19 points from seven matches. Xavi’s side are level on points with second-placed Real Madrid with a better goal difference. Barcelona made some brilliant signings in the summer transfer window, and it appears that they have paid off.

Barcelona will head into the La Liga match against Celta de Vigo on the back of a 1-0 defeat to former Serie A champions Inter Milan away from home at San Siro in the UEFA Champions League. It followed a 1-0 victory over Real Mallorca away from home in La Liga.

Team News:

Memphis Depay is out with a hamstring injury, but Frankie de Jong could be back. Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Hector Bellerin, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie all are injured.

Celta de Vigo

Celta de Vigo are an established club in La Liga and did well last season. They ended up as high as 11th in the standings, and the fans must be delighted with that.

Eduardo Coudet are doing well at the moment as well. Celtic are currently 11th in the La Liga table with 10 points from seven matches, five points behind fourth-placed Real Betis and six points above the relegation zone.

Celta will head into the match against Barcelona at Camp Nou on the back of a 1-0 win against Real Betis at the Balaídos. It followed a 3-0 defeat to Valencia away from home at the Mestalla in the league.

Team News:

Iago Aspas is set to continue to lead the line for Celta de Vigo like he has done for a while. Carles Perez could start.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Barcelona have scored 19 goals in 7 La Liga matches.
  • Celta de Vigo have conceded 13 goals in 7 La Liga matches.
  • Barcelona have conceded 1 goal in 7 La Liga matches.
  • Celta de Vigo have scored 9 goals in 7 La Liga games.
  • Robert Lewandowski have scored 9 goals in 7 La Liga games.

Conclusion

Barcelona are on a roll at the moment, and it is hard to see them slip up against Celta de Vigo. Barca have a much better team than Celta, and one should not surprised if they ease past them 3-0 or 4-0.

Prediction: Barcelona to win 4-0

Best Odds: 14/1
