Zenit Saint Petersburg’s French defender Sebastien Puygrenier said Saturday that he is set to extend his loan with French first division side Monaco for another season.

“I passed the medical Saturday morning and signed the main documents with Monaco,” Puygrenier told l’AFP. “All that remains are some small, quick details to sort out.”

Monaco director general Marc Keller confirmed that the final agreement with the Russian club is expected Monday.

Already loaned by Zenit to Monaco last season, Puygrenier will be a rival for Peter Hansson and Cedric Mongongu at the post of central defender.
