Rakitic decides against January move

Ivan Rakitic has made a decision not to leave Barcelona in the upcoming January transfer window, according to Marca.

There has been much talk about the potential fate of the Croatian midfielder who has seen his game-time at Camp Nou significantly reduced in the early part of the season. He voiced his frustrations publicly at a press conference while on international duty, and whether it has made an impact despite head coach Ernesto Valverde saying it didn’t, or it’s a mere coincidence, he has been playing much more lately. He recently said that there was no better place for him than Barcelona, as long as he’s playing regularly, despite being linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, and his former club Sevilla.

The 31-year-old has had some excellent performances in recent games, and with his place in the starting XI looking increasingly likely, he has now decided not to push for a transfer, at least before the season is over.
