Rakitic rejects Manchester United move

Ivan Rakitic is unhappy about being a backup option for Barcelona’s midfield section under Ernesto Valverde, and the Catalan club have reportedly agreed to let him leave in January, providing their terms are met.

On the other hand, Manchester United have started the season in a very bad way, sitting just points above the relegation zone after eight games and facing Premier League leaders Liverpool next. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently revealed that he and the club’s executive vice-president Ed Woodward ‘have a plan’ to improve the team, and that, apparently includes winter additions to the squad. According to Sport, one of their primary targets is Rakitic and the 20-time English champions are willing to offer him a lucrative contract.

However, the Croatia international isn’t interested in moving to Old Trafford. His family doesn’t want to live in Manchester, and his preferred options are therefore Paris Saint-Germain or Inter Milan.
