Glasgow Rangers have confirmed the signing of Jake Hastie from Motherwell. The winger’s contract with his current club is about to expire, and Rangers have taken advantage of the situation and snapped his services up on a four-year deal.
At the age of 20, Hastie is considered a hot prospect in Scotland, making his debut for his country’s U-21 team recently. He has spent some time on loan, first with Scottish League One side Airdrieonians, and then with Championship side Alloa Athletic, but he has also made 13 Scottish Premiership appearances for Motherwell this season and scored six goals.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said he was delighted with the signing, and added that the club are always on the lookout for individual players who can improve his team.He has no doubt whatsoever that Hastie is such a player.
Gerrard also spoke in praising tones about the youngster’s performances for Motherwell this term.
