According to a report in the Sunday Post, Glasgow Rangers are monitoring Venezia’s Harvey St Clair.
The 19-year-old winger grew up going through the Academy ranks at Chelsea. He also played for Scotland’s U17 and U19 teams and he’s currently a member of their U21 outfit. In the summer this year, he declined an offer of a contract that would see him remain at Stamford Bridge in favor of a move to Venezia. He has had a bright start in Italy, and he says he didn’t regret his choice despite the club not competing in the top tier at the moment, as he liked their vision and the role they had in mind for him.
St Clair also revealed that Michael Beale, a first team coach at Ibrox with whom the player worked at Chelsea at one time, advised him not to remain in England but to embark on a new challenge.
Apparently, manager Steven Gerrard has already scouted the player in person and will continue to monitor his development until the end of the season, when he will decide whether to make an approach.
