Real Madrid and Manchester United could be involved in a new tussle

Real Madrid and Manchester United could be involved in a new set of negotiations soon.

Forget about Cristiano Ronaldo. This time it could involve Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez.

Real Madrid are said to be interested in the Argentinean as a replacement for their injured Dutch and former Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy who is expected to be out for quite a few months following knee problems.

Van Nistelrooy is expected to see leading United States specialist Richard Steadman.

There are however problems that could stand in the way of the purchases during the January transfer window. Firstly the player would not be eligible to play for Real Madrid in the Champions League as he is already cup tied and secondly Manchester United are only renting the player for two years from MSL to whom they had already paid ₤10 million.

Were Manchester United wanting to purchase the player it would cost as much as £25 million.

With the tug-o-war between the two clubs a few months back over the Cristiano Ronaldo saga, this new development could make the headlines for some time to come.
