Jesus Vallejo is not meeting the expectations. They need to add a player of quality nearer to the first-choice pair who have been virtually unchallenged for a long time now.
The players they’ve been looking at are either unobtainable due to obvious reasons (Lucas and Jose Gimenez of Atletico Madrid and Samuel Umtiti of Barcelona), or aren’t deemed good enough (Leo Santos of Corinthians and Mario Hermoso of Espanyol).
Therefore, their search for a suitable target continues.
