Rico Lewis close to signing new Manchester City contract?

Rico Lewis is close to signing a new contract with Manchester City, according to 90min. The report has claimed that the defending Premier League champions are close to finalising a new contract with the 18-year-old.

Lewis is one of the best young players in the Premier League who has already made a massive impact at City. The 18-year-old can operate as a right-back or as a defensive midfielder and has played once for the England Under-21 international side as well.

The 18-year-old has made six starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for City so far this season. The teenager has also made one start and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the Citizens this campaign, scoring one goal in the process.

City are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 79 points from 33 matches, a point clear of second-placed Arsenal, who have played 34 games.
