Hoping to end the weekend at the top of the Serie A standings, a high-flying Inter Milan will welcome SPAL to the San Siro on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, keeping their Champions League ambitions alive with a thumping 3-1 win away at Slavia Praha in midweek, Inter Milan have continued to shine since bringing in former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte. Sat just a single point adrift of Juventus at the top of the table, the Blue and Blacks have won their last three matches on the bounce and they have one attacking star enjoying an extended purple patch. Finding the net on foreign soil on Wednesday, Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has now found the net in each of his last three appearances on the spin and has already recorded 15 strikes since joining Milan over the summer.

As for the visitors, while SPAL may have managed to snatch back-to-back draws off of Genoa and Udinese, Leonardo Semplici’s men still find themselves tipped as one of the leading contenders to finish in the bottom-three this season. Now failing to win any of their last six matches on the bounce, a run that stems back to the 5th of October, a huge part of their continued issues this season has been their performances away from the Stadio Paolo Mazza. Losing five of their last six matches on the road and yet to record an away victory this season, Sunday’s trip to the San Siro could prove to be another long afternoon for SPAL.
