Ronaldo to stay at Man United under Ten Hag

Despite the numerous speculations on the subject in the last several weeks, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to remain at Manchester United this summer as he foresees a bright future for the team under the incoming manager, Erik ten Hag, according to The Times.

The 37-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner returned to the club last summer after 12 years of absence, during which he enjoyed formidable success with Real Madrid and Juventus. He signed a two-year contract, but with the team turning out disappointing results under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and later under Ralf Rangnick, and the fact that it’s now impossible for them to qualify for next season’s Champions League, it was speculated that the Portuguese superstar would seek to move on halfway through his written commitment. Some even suggested United would be better for it, despite the fact that Ronaldo remains their top scorer this season with 24 goals in all competitions, 14 more than next-best Bruno Fernandes.

However, it seems Ronaldo has no intention of leaving Old Trafford before his contract is up, and the club have the option to extend it for 12 months more if they choose.
