Rondon’s Newcastle future in his own hands – Benitez

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has expressed his belief that the future of Salomon Rondon at the club might well be in his own hands, according to Newcastle Chronicle.

Speaking to the same outlet a few days ago, the striker said he would be happy to stay at the St James Park well past his current loan deal from West Bromwich Albion, revealing that his family had settled well at the north-east of England.

As things stand, he is due to return to the Hawthorns at the end of the season, but he is hoping the situation will change.

Benitez says he believes the best thing for the Venezuela international to do right now is to focus on his football and the upcoming games, because when a player is doing well, especially a striker scoring goals, such things become easier. The best way for a player to promote himself is to stay focused and play well.
