Rudiger set for new Chelsea deal

Chelsea are readying a new contract for Antonio Rudiger, according to the Mail Online.

The Germany international is set to be rewarded after cementing his place in the Blues’ first team under new manager Maurizio Sarri, despite have three years remaining on his current deal.

Rudiger has played all but twenty-one minutes of Chelsea’s Premier League campaign thus far – a campaign in which they remain unbeaten.

He scored his first goal of the season with the opener in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United, having hit three goals in all competitions last term.

Prior to his switch to the Premier League he spent two years at Roma which followed five years at VfB Stuttgart – the club where he began his career.

Internationally, he has been capped twenty-seven times with his one and only goal coming in a 5-1 World Cup Qualifying win over Azerbaijan just over twelve months ago.
