Rudiger to snub Man United

According to the Mirror, Antonio Rudiger has no intention of joining Manchester United when his contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season.

Apparently, the 20-time English champions have been considering the possibility of bringing the Germany international in to partner Raphael Varane in the heart of defence, with captain Harry Maguire currently under great scrutiny due to recent extremely poor performances, but Rudiger does not want to play for a club that’s so far from being a regular feature of the Champions League.

As things stand, United are likely to miss out on UEFA’s elite competition next season, having seen their campaign this term end in the round of 16 at the hands of Atletico Madrid.

Rudiger has been linked with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona, and it seems he may well leave the Premier League when he leaves Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have no power to offer the 29-year-old a new deal under the terms of the sanctions imposed on owner Roman Abramovich.
