FC Koln winger Said El Mala wants to join Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.
Falk wrote on his website, CF Bayern Insider: “It is TRUE: Said El Mala has said yes to signing for Brighton.
“The idea is that the Seagulls could offer €40m [£34.4m] to FC Köln.
“There was also a bid in the winter of around €30m, but that wasn’t enough for Cologne, as they needed him for the rest of the season.
“But in the summer, there’s a clearer pathway. Brighton made their offer, which is very attractive for the family!
“El Mala changed his agent, letting his mother take over. He also has a brother, Malek El Mala. Both brothers wanted to play in the same club – and they can do this at Brighton, as the south coast club also made an offer for Malek.
“This is the dream! Both can play in England, which is why Brighton are in the lead. I think this transfer will happen.”
