Saturday’s Football Accumulator: 6/1 Special & Betting Tips – February 8th

With the FA Cup stealing centre stage on Saturday afternoon, we have another stacked schedule from across the continent.

While we might have a couple of all-Premier League showdowns on the cards, we also have some heavyweight fixtures from the likes of Ligue 1 and La Liga.

For those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have taken a look at some of this weekend’s most appealing betting markets.

Saturday, February 8th

BST 12:30 Stockport County vs Barnsley

While Stockport might have only made their League One return this season, the Hatters have embarked on a sensational third-tier flurry and are once again scrapping it out at the top of the table.

Last seen putting in a stellar display as they clinched a 1-0 victory away at fellow promotion contenders Leyton Orient, Dave Challinor’s side are riding a major wave of momentum.

Signing off January with another 1-0 win against Shrewsbury, the Manchester-based outfit have won each of their previous four consecutive League One appearances.

Making a statement last month as they stormed their way to a 3-1 victory away at Reading, Stockport have impressed with their rugged performances at the back.

It should be highlighted, Saturday’s hosts have conceded just a single goal on their four-match winning run.

Although Barnsley might have opened up the 2024/25 campaign with their sights set on snapping up another play-off spot, the Tykes have drastically failed to find any kind of stability.

Including a shock 3-1 loss at the hands of Bristol Rovers last month, Saturday’s guests have collected just a single point from any of their previous four League One appearances.

Facing what should be another real challenge here, Barnsley have suffered back-to-back League One defeats away from Oakwell for the first time since the start of October.

Likewise, recording just a single strike in almost 300 minutes of League One action, they have also failed to muster a single clean sheet on their travels since October 26th.

Tip: Stockport County win & Under 4.5 goals @ 6/5

15:00 Norwich City vs Derby County

While Norwich might have shown some real inconsistencies on either side of opening the New Year, Saturday’s hosts have certainly claimed a much-welcomed boost over the past fortnight.

Storming their way to a sensational 5-1 romp against Swansea on January 25th, the Canaries put in another gritty performance last week as they snatched a 1-0 victory away at Watford.

Getting 2025 underway with consecutive wins against Luton and Coventry, Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side now have their sights firmly set on securing another play-off ticket this season.

Getting Saturday’s showdown underway sat just two points adrift of breaking back into the Championship’s top-six, Norwich will also be excited by their recent success on home soil.

In fact, including a 2-1 victory against Millwall on Boxing Day, Norwich have registered 10 points from just their last four Championship showdowns at Carrow Road.

While Derby might have only made their Championship return this season, Saturday’s guests have a real battle on their hands in the race to keep hold of their second-tier status.

Last seen suffering a 1-0 loss at home against Sheffield United, Paul Warne’s side are at the heart of what has become a real struggle.

Dropping into the relegation zone and enduring their worst rut of the season so far, Derby have now lost each of their previous eight consecutive appearances across all competitions.

Crashing out of the FA Cup last month following penalties heartbreak at the hands of League One outfit Leyton Orient, the former Rotherham boss has also seen his downbeat squad muster just a single victory away from Pride Park so far this season.

Tip: Norwich City win @ 7/10

18:00 Lille vs Le Havre

Crashing out of the Coupe de France earlier in the week as they suffered penalties heartbreak at the hands of Ligue 2 outfit Dunkerque, Lille are desperately seeking an immediate response on Saturday evening.

Nevertheless, last seen in top-flight action storming their way to a retune 4-1 victory against St. Etienne, the Mastiffs will be looking for a repeat performance at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Signing off their Champions League group stage adventure with a sensational Dutch outfit Feyenoord, Bruno Genesio’s side have not suffered a single Ligue 1 defeat in front of their own supporters since way back on September 1st.

Looking to skyrocket their way back into the top-three this weekend, Lille’s attacking talisman will certainly have a leading role to play on Saturday evening.

Along with notching three goals in his previous four appearances across all competitions, Canadian international Jonathan David has already registered 12 Ligue 1 goals so far this season.

While Le Havre might have eventually clung to their Ligue 1 status last season, the Dean Club have endured a public top-flight crisis this time around.

Sat rock-bottom of the table and collected just 14 points from their 20 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Didier Digard’s side are rightfully pencilled in as a landslide relegation candidate in 2025.

Getting the New Year underway with a 5-1 drumming away at Marseille, Le Havre are without a win from any of their previous nine appearances across all competitions.

It should also be highlighted, Digard’s side have lost each of their last four trips to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy by an aggregate score of 10-3.

Tip: Jonathan David to score anytime @ 1/1
