Ross County’s impressive run of form continued with a 3-0 win over Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday.

Derek Adams’ side extended their unbeaten run to eight matches – of which six have been wins – with the comprehensive triumph at Victoria Park.

Motherwell entered the match in second position on the table but they were outdone by an inspired Ross County outfit.

The hosts took the lead after 34 minutes when Northern Irish midfielder Ivan Sproule netted his fifth goal in as many matches.

Scotsman Richard Brittain doubled their lead with 19 minutes left and Iain Vigurs wrapped up the win with a late effort which saw Ross County climb to fifth on the table.

Motherwell saw Inverness Caledonian Thistle move above them into second as a result of their defeat.

Inverness won 3-2 at Hearts in an exciting fixture at Tynecastle, with defender Gary Warren the unlikely hero.

Warren gave Inverness the lead on 15 minutes but Jason Holt responded just after half-time for Hearts.

Billy McKay’s goal for the winners was quickly cancelled out by Andrew Webster and the match seemed headed for a draw.

But Warren scored again for Inverness as his late winner saw them go second.

In other results, fourth-placed St. Johnstone beat St. Mirren 1-0 thanks to Rowan Vine’s goal while Kilmarnock and Aberdeen were forced to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
