Fulham have been contemplating a new signing for the right-back position in January. Cyrus Christie, Denis Odoi and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have all failed to nail down the spot and the club have been searching for another solution.
However, Sky Sports now claim that Steven Sessegnon, the brother of their more established left-sided attacker Ryan, will be given a chance to make the position his own. It seems the 18-year-old has impressed the newly appointed manager Claudio Ranieri, and the former Chelsea and Leicester City boss is ready to give him a place in the starting XI in the upcoming FA Cup clash with Oldham.
Should Ranieri be satisfied with what he sees from Sessegnon, the Cottagers might decide not to dip into the winter transfer market after all, and it would lead to a new deal being put on the table for the young defender to sign. The deal would run through 2022, with an option of a 12-month extension.
