Competition: La Liga
Market: Sevilla win
Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport
Smelling a golden chance to extend on their recent purple patch, a high-flying Sevilla will make the trip to an empty Ciutat de València on Wednesday evening.
Starting with the hosts, while Levante might have managed to land that much-needed 1-0 win away at Eibar earlier in the month, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for The Frogs. Despite opening the 2020/21 campaign enjoying a real flurry and some in their camp even dreaming of a shock charge for the European spots, Paco López’s side put in what was a hugely worrying display last weekend. In a performance that was billed as their worst of the season so far, Granotes were hit with a woeful 5-1 drumming at the hands of Villarreal on home soil. Losing three of their last four La Liga contests, Levante have also gained a reputation for their issues at The Ciutat de València. Including that drumming at the hands of The Yellows last time out, Wednesday’s hosts have recorded just a single win in their last eight straight home fixtures across all formats, a run that stems back to the start of February.
As for the visitors, coming from behind away newly-crowned Copa del Rey champions Real Sociedad over the weekend, Sevilla certainly find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Sat in pole position to secure themselves a Champions League spot for next season, Los Palanganas are unbeaten in each of their last seven matchups across all formats and will be smelling a golden chance to extend on their purple patch in midweek. Managing to build off of that eye-catching 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid at The Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, Head Coach and one-time Spain boss Julen Lopetegui has seen his squad muster 16 points from their last six La Liga contests. It should be noted, along with landing a 1-0 win when they faced off against Levante earlier in the season, they are unbeaten against Wednesday’s hosts since 2018.
