Sevilla and Lazio keen on West Brom front-man

A report from the Daily Mirror is reporting that West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long is a target for Sevilla and Lazio in the summer transfer window.

The Republic of Ireland international will have just one year left on his current contract with the Baggies at the end of the English Premier League campaign.

Serie A side Lazio were reportedly keeping tabs on the 26-year-old in the January window, but a deal never materialised.

They might have to fight it out with Sevilla to secure his services in the summer and it might be a bit of a shock if Long does move abroad.

He apparently has a superb relationship with current West Brom manager Steve Clarke and the Scotsman will try and do all he can to get a new contract agreed in the next few months.

The forward has been in good form this campaign and is a natural goal-scorer, so that is why some big European clubs are keen on him.

The likes of Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on Long, but if he goes anywhere, it looks like Spain or Italy is his most likely destination.

We shall see how this deal progresses in the coming months.
