Sevilla complete signing of Valencia defender

Sevilla have completed the signing of defender Alexis Ruano from La Liga rivals Valencia CF. The news comes days after the Andalusian side sold Sebastien Squillaci to English giants Arsenal. According to Spanish media reports, Sevilla have reportedly paid Valencia somewhere around 5 million euros for Ruano’s services.

Alexis rose through the youth ranks at Malaga CF, Sevilla’s Andalusian rivals. He joined Getafe in 2006 and his impressive performances for the club earned him a big money move to Valencia in 2007. However injuries restricted him to only 60 odd appearances in three seasons at the Mestalla.

Alexis is a versatile central defender who can also play on the left if required.
