According to earlier reports, Arsenal under former Sevilla manager Unai Emery are interested in bringing Steven N’Zonzi to the Emirates, and the preliminary talks between the two clubs have already been held.
Prior to joining Sevilla, N’Zonzi played for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City in the Premier League, and now he’s a World Cup winner with France. Emery was the coach that had picked him out at Stoke at brought him to Spain, and after a relatively unsuccessful stint with Paris Saint-Germain, he wants the player to rejoin him at Arsenal.
However, Sevilla director of football Joaquin Caparros has revealed that the Spanish club won’t be giving the midfield powerhouse up for anything less than his buyout clause. Speaking to Cadena Ser, Caparros said they did not budge on the price for Clement Lenglet and that there would be no difference in the case of N’Zonzi. Whoever decides to go for his signature will have to pay the full amount set in his contract – £35million.
