Sharp keen on permanent Reading deal

Billy Sharp is keen on agreeing a permanent deal with Reading, according to Sky Sports.

The striker moved to the Madjeski Stadium on loan in September and has scored two goals in six Championship appearances.

The Royals are the third club where Sharp has played under manager Nigel Adkins, after the former physio had him at both Scunthorpe United and Southampton – the club where the 27 year old is set to return on January 2nd.

He has admitted that he doesn’t have a future at St. Mary’s, having played just eighteen minutes for them since they were promoted to the top flight in 2012.

His goal against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon was enough to secure victory for his side, and move them to within six points of an automatic promotion place.

They host Wigan Athletic next, and Sharp can be backed at a price of 11/2 to open the scoring.
