Smalling set for Manchester United exit

The Daily Star understands that West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United are ready to battle for the services of Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

The centre-back looks set to be moved on by manager Jose Mourinho this summer with the Portuguese defender looking to refresh his squad for a potential return to the Champions League.

The twenty-seven started only thirteen of United’s Premier League games last season though he was used regularly in both domestic cups and in Europe.

Since signing from Fulham for £10m, he has racked up two hundred and forty-two appearances in all competitions, scoring thirteen goals while he has won a whole host of major honours including two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.

He could add a Europa League medal to his haul on Wednesday evening as the Red Devils take on Ajax in Stockholm, and a United are priced at 1/1 to win the match in ninety minutes.
