Solskjaer hints at no attacking signings in January for United

Lautaro Martinez, Erling Haaland, Timo Werner, Moussa Dembele, Thomas Muller, Mario Mandzukic – those are all just some of the forwards Manchester United have been recently linked with as potential January signings. However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped a hint that there wouldn’t be any big spending in the attacking department this winter.

The Norwegian previously claimed that he would be in the market for a new forward following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, but he’s now gone back on that and expressed strong faith in the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. Speaking after his team fired a blank and suffered a defeat at the hands of Bournemouth on Saturday, Solskjaer said the pair of them would eventually come good in terms of goals, but he did admit that his team lack creativity.

Paul Pogba, their main man in that respect, has been out for quite a few games recently due to injury, and Fred, who’s mostly been playing in his place, hasn’t been doing very well. Having scored four times against Chelsea in the opening round, United managed only nine goals in the 10 games since.
