The career of Danny Ings was certainly a difficult one. In 2015 it seemed all was set for him to show his quality at top level after joining Liverpool from Burnley, but two ACL injuries, one after the other, kept him out of action for almost two years. In that time, Liverpool had replaced Brendan Rodgers at the helm with Jurgen Klopp, and the team was forced to take the upward road without him.

He eventually joined Southampton on a season-long loan in 2018, and the move was made permanent the following year for around £20 million. He proved a great acquisition for the Saints,  scoring 33 goals in 67 games in total in their shirt so far.

He played a single game for England before the injuries came, and now he’s back with his national team.
