Lithuanian striker Lucas Spalvis will become Sporting CP’s first signing of the summer transfer window, his current employers AaB have moved to confirm.

The Lions failed to complete the deal during the winter transfer window, but eventually secured the signature of the talented footballer.

Spalvis had few more offers following the impressive start to the current season, but he ultimately opted to join the Primeira Liga side.

The 21-year-old recovered well from a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained back in August 2014 and he went on to score 14 goals in 17 league outings this term.

The Danish Superliga top scorer will have a chance to help AaB clinch the league trophy before moving to Estadio Jose Alvalade and at the same time gain some more first team experience.

Sporting Lisbon have quite a few experienced strikers in their ranks, but the likes of Teo Gutierrez, Islam Slimani and Junya Tanaka are all expected to leave in the summer.
