According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Georges Mikautadze from Villarreal and are currently preparing an offer worth around €50million for his services. It is the amount believed to be set by the release clause in his contract, valid until 2031.
Spurs boss Thomas Frank has a total of four strikers at his disposal, but numerous sources claim he is not happy with that section of the squad. Dominic Solanke has failed to justify the €65million the club paid to sign him from Bournemouth in 2024, Richarlison has never shown much consistency, and neither have Randal Kolo Muani or Mathys Tel.
It has been said that Frank would love to work with Ivan Toney again after their successful collaboration at Brentford, but Spurs apparently wouldn’t be able to match the wages the 29-year-old currently earns at Al-Ahli.
And now it seems they’ve shifted their focus on Mikautadze. The Georgia international currently has four goals and two assists in 12 appearances for Villarreal in all competitions. He is valued greatly at the La Liga club and they wouldn’t even consider letting him go for anything less than the release clause in his contract.
