The newly appointed Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, set to take up the role at the end of the season, wants to boost the fullback ranks at the club, according to the Mirror. To that end, he’s expressed a desire for Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia to be brought in, as well as his charge at Ajax, Noussair Mazraoui.
Malacia is a product of the academy at Feyenoord; he hasn’t represented any other club at any level as of yet. At the age of 22, he has one goal and five assists in 46 appearances in all competitions this season, and it seems Ten Hag believes he would represent an improvement on the options currently at United, Luke Shaw and Alex Telles.
Meanwhile, the Dutch coach is believed to have tried and failed to convince Mazraoui to accompany him to Old Trafford in his bid to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The 24-year-old has been linked with AS Roma and Barcelona in the past, but now he seems set to join Bayern Munich.
