According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are the favourites to sign Dortmund’s highly-rated winger Jadon Sancho. However, the reports claim that the Red Devils will have to break their club transfer record fee to sign the winger, as BVB are reported to have slapped a price tag of around £120million on the youngster.

Sancho is one of the best attacking players in the world

In the past, people have stated that Jadon Sancho was one of the brightest YOUNG players in the world game. However, now he maybe deserves to just be described as one of the best attacking players in world football, without the young tag. The youngster is simply that good. At 19 years of age, it is frightening how much better he could get in the future.

There is very few if any players of his age that can match Sancho’s return of 14 goals and the same number of assists in the Bundesliga. The youngster has also scored two and produced two assists in the Champions League this season.

It is easy to see why so many clubs are reportedly monitoring Sancho’s situation. His statistics do not lie, he is simply phenomenal.

United still building

The Manchester United rebuild under head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not all gone smoothly. The Red Devils have endured mixed fortunes in the Premier League and are slightly lucky that the teams around the European spots are so wildly inconsistent, as it gives United a chance of Champions League football for next season.

In the last few weeks, there have been signs that things are coming together for Solskjaer and his team. The arrival of Portuguese international midfielder Bruno Fernandes has certainly played a part in United’s recent decent form.

The former Sporting player ids looking like a very important part of what is a very complicated jigsaw at Old Trafford. The Red Devils need to continue to add further quality to their squad, as when Solskjaer arrived his squad was simply not good enough to challenge for a Champions League spot.

Even now, the current United squad may not be up to finishing in the top-four or top-five. Signing a player like Sancho, who is such a highly-rated and exciting player would certainly be a step in the right direction for the men from Manchester.

Champions League qualification is massive for United

Manchester United are currently odds of 8/11 to finish in the Premier League’s top-five this season. Finishing in the top-five would be enough for Champions League football for next season, pending a City appeal against their European ban of course.

What signings United make in the summer is likely to determine the sort of transfer activity that the Red Devils conduct this summer. While United seem to spend big whether they are in the Champions League or not, they cannot afford to be outside looking in for long.

Players are more likely to join United if they are in Europe’s elite competition. Whether that would sway Sancho’s mind on a switch to United is unclear. However, it would be a massive coup for the Red devils if they could somehow sign the winger this summer, as he is, without doubt, a potential superstar.

Will Manchester United sign Jadon Sancho this summer?
