Tigres booked their place in the Champions Cup final with a 2-0 aggregate win over Nashville SC.

The Mexican side replicated their 1-0 win in the first leg at Estadio Universitario on Tuesday, with Angel Correa assisting Juan Brunetta for the winner in the 68th minute in a game of few chances.

Cesar Araujo squandered an early opportunity for Tigres, missing the target with a header from within the six-yard box, while Hany Mukhtar failed to test Nahuel Guzman with a strike from distance.

The only shot on target in the first half came from Marcelo Flores in stoppage time, but he failed to get any power on a poked effort, which was easily caught by Brian Schwake.

Tigres then broke the deadlock with the first attempt after the break. Correa dribbled past two defenders before laying the ball off to Brunetta, who took a touch to compose himself before firing in at the near post.

Nashville were only able to create two half-chances in their pursuit of a comeback, but the MLS side fell short as Tigres will now prepare for the showpiece on May 30.

Data Debrief: Correa makes the difference

After scoring the winner in the first leg, Correa also had an influential role for Tigres in the second leg as they avoided back-to-back semi-final exits in the Champions Cup.

The former Atletico Madrid forward registered the most shots for Tigres (two), touches in the box (six), passes in the final third (25), successful dribbles (three) and competed in the most duels (15) in a battling display.

Overall, Tigres produced 0.72 expected goals (xG) from eight shots to Nashville’s 0.26 from seven shots; the MLS side failed to register a shot on target for the first time in a Champions Cup game (since 2016).
