Torosidis agrees Roma switch

Roma have reached an agreement with Olympiakos over the purchase of defender Vasilis Torosidis, the Italian club have announced.

The Giallorossi revealed via their Twitter account that they had agreed a transfer fee with Olympiakos.

All that’s left now is for the player to pass his medical and agree on the personal terms with the Serie A side.

Torosidis, 27, arrives at Stadio Olimpico to increase competition at the right-back position, with his versatility an added bonus for the Giallorossi.

The Greece international can cover a number of positions across defence and midfield, with this quality making him an indispensable member of the national team.

Torosidis has spent last seven seasons at Olympiakos, scoring 12 goals in 124 league appearances for the club.

He has earned a total of 54 Greece caps, scoring 7 goals in the process, and represented his national team at Euro 2008, 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.
