Two sides who have endured a worrying end to the year, Mallorca will welcome Albacete to the Iberostar Estadi on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Mallorca’s stellar record at the Iberostar Estadi may have spearheaded their play-off charge this season, Vicente Moreno will be growing more concerned by his sides’ sluggish end to the year. Ending their campaign with another lackluster display in their 0-0 draw against bottom half finishers Extremadura UD last weekend, Los Bermellones have failed to win any of their last three outings and have picked up just a single win since the start of May. It will undoubtedly be Mallorca’s struggles in the final third giving Moreno the biggest headache. Thursday’s hosts have managed to find the net just once in over 300 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, slumping to an empathic 3-0 hammering away at Almeria to end their Segunda campaign last weekend, Albacete find themselves in the midst of their own struggle. Losing back-to-back encounters and also losing three of their last four appearances, former Real Madrid coach Luis Miguel Ramis finds his side low on both confidence and form. Only managing to pick up a pair of victories since the middle of April, Thursday’s contest at the Iberostar Estadi could be an incredibly cagey encounter. With four of the last five meetings between the two sides ending with under 2.5 goals at full-time, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.
