United and Arsenal tempted by QPR shot-stopper

The Sun is reporting that Manchester United could make a shock move for Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar in the January transfer window.

United have issues with their current number one, David De Gea, as he is making too many mistakes in the English Premier League.

The young Spaniard put in a superb performance against Tottenham Hotspur last time out, but was at fault for the goal in the dying second and Sir Alex Ferguson knows he has to have a safe pair of hands if he is to win the title this season.

Cesar offers experience of playing at the highest level and at 33-years-old, he still has a number of years left in him in the top flight.

His form for Rangers recently is what has caught the eye of Ferguson and he could try and lure him away from Loftus Road in the next few days.

However, United could face competition from Arsenal as they to are keeping a look-out for new goalkeepers.

Wojciech Szczesny can be a liability at times and Arsene Wenger could also do with a bit of knowhow in between the sticks.

It is a story to keep an eye on as this January transfer window enters its final week.
