United getting rid of Fellaini

According to the Mirror, Marouane Fellaini is set to be the first to leave Manchester United as surplus to requirements after the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

The Belgian arrived to Old Trafford along with manager David Moyes from Everton in 2013, for £27 million. He was regarded highly by Louis van Gaal too, and became a vital part of the squad under Mourinho. The Portuguese liked to utilize Fellaini’s height, strength and the aerial prowess that usually comes with those two traits. His presence on the pitch often brought results when the team had no alternative but to go for long balls forward.

However, since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to the helm, United have been playing a more dynamic style of football and it has brought them six wins on the trot for now, though they still sit in sixth place, and it seems Fellaini’s time in Manchester is about to come to an end.

AC Milan, Porto and Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande have all been credited with interest in the 31-year-old midfielder.
