United in for Lallana

Manchester United are ready to make a move for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana, according to the Daily Star.

The 25 year old has been one of the stand-out performers in the Saints splendid start to the season, form which has seen him recognised by England manager Roy Hodgson, who handed him his international debut in the friendly at Wembley last month.

The Premier League champions are set to make a splash in the transfer market when the window reopens next month, with a new midfielder likely to be at the top of his wish list.

Lallana is rated at around £15m, but is under contract with the South Coast club until the end of the 2017/18 campaign having signed a new contract back in April.

He has four goals in seventeen league appearances so far this season, and is priced at 9/1 to open the scoring against Cardiff City this afternoon.
