United no longer interested in Bale

Manchester United have no interest in signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid anymore, according to Sky Sports.

United tried to bring Bale to Old Trafford back in his youth days, but they weren’t successful. They have been keeping an eye on him ever since, but now, the situation has changed. Given his age (29, turning 30 soon), injury record, as well as the high salary the Welshman commands at this point in his career, the 20-time English champions are not willing to take a risk on signing the winger.

Bale’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been looking very doubtful throughout the season that just ended, especially since Zinedine Zidane returned to the dugout. They have already completed the signings of Rodrygo, Eder Militao, Luka Jović, Eden Hazard and Ferland Mendy, and are reportedly preparing for a clear-out to balance their books.

The change in United’s stance regrading Bale apparently highlights the change in their approach to transfers, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on adding young, British, talented players, such as Daniel James whom they’ve already signed from Swansea.
