United rule out Eriksen transfer in January

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have ruled out trying to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur this winter.

Various reports suggested that the Red Devils were preparing a £20 million offer for Spurs to allow the attacking midfielder to leave six months before his contract expires, but it seems those stories were rather wide of the mark.

Eriksen should be a free agent in the summer unless a move somewhere materializes this month. That, as fresh reports say, could still happen with Inter Milan now reportedly leading the chase for his signature as he seeks a place outside of the Premier League to be the next chapter of his career. The Nerazzurri CEO Guiseppe Marotta recently confirmed the Serie A side’s interest in him, though he admitted that there hadn’t been any contact with the North London club yet. Apparently, Inter’s priority at the moment is Barcelona midfield enforcer Arturo Vidal.

But whatever happens there, it seems Eriksen won’t be moving to Old Trafford this winter.
