Valencia were close to signing Moussa Sissoko

Spanish media outlet Superdeporte is reporting that Valencia were on the verge of signing Moussa Sissoko from Tottenham.

It is no secret that Spurs were hoping to offload the France international in the summer and they were involved in lengthy talks with los Che.

But, while Valencia seriously considered signing Sissoko, they ultimately ended their interest and instead agreed a season-long loan for Man Utd starlet Andreas Pereira.

The lack of La Liga experience was probably the main reason why los Che gave up on the Frenchman, and they eventually signed the player who impressed while on loan at Granada last term.

Meanwhile, Moussa Sissoko has no choice but to fight for his place at Tottenham and hope that he will find a new club in January.
