Sheffield Wednesday have signed defender Glenn Loovens on a short-term deal, according to Sky Sports.
The Netherlands international has been without a club since he was released from Real Zaragoza in the summer.
He played 21 times in La Liga last season, having joined from Celtic, while he made 100 league appearances for Cardiff City where he played alongside fellow Owls centre back Roger Johnson.
Before moving to the United Kingdom, Loovens spent five years with Feyenord where he began his professional career, while he has also had loan spells with Excelsior and De Graafschap.
He joins a Wednesday side who currently sit 23rd in the Championship, joint on points with bottom of the table Barnsley, and are without a manager after they sacked Dave Jones following a 2-0 loss to Blackpool – their third straight league defeat.
They hosts leaders Leicester City this evening, and are priced at 10/3 to take all three points.
