According to Marca, Real Madrid have put the name of Arsenal’s William Saliba at the top of their list of potential targets for the back line as they plan to rebuild their squad this summer.
Thanks to his performances against Real Madrid, among other things, Saliba and his team are currently locking horns with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinals. They lost the first leg at home by 0-1, but there is obviously a strong belief in their ranks that the tie is very far from over.
Be that as it may, Saliba’s performance in both quarterfinal legs, which Arsenal won by 3-0 and 1-2, stood out from the rest of the Gunners’ excellent defence. Real have been watching the 24-year-old for a while now, considering him among the best centre-backs in the game at the moment, and both Arsenal and Saliba himself have been made aware of their interest in his services this summer.
